Processing a Hold Rx Request

A New Rx Request may be flagged as a Hold Rx by the prescriber.

This does not prevent the prescription from being processed, but it is best practice to consult with the patient before filling the prescription.

When processing a New Rx Request flagged as Hold Rx, and the Process button is selected, the following prompt displays.

Select one of the following options:

  • Hold - prescription will not be processed and is placed on hold.

  • OK - prescription is processed as per normal.
